The short answer

We do not name, rank, rate or review clinics we have not assessed. We do not invent a price, a study, a statistic or a practitioner. Paid listings are labelled paid and sit outside editorial. Two archive pages carry one disclosed editorial link each and every other page carries none.

1. Independence

No advertising network. No affiliate commission. No sponsored articles. No payment accepted for editorial coverage, for a mention, for a link, for a favourable description or for the removal of an unfavourable one.

Two revenue lines exist and both are declared: a paid clinic listing tier and a labelled newsletter sponsor line. Neither buys editorial. A listing customer has no more influence over a page on this site than a stranger, and considerably less than a reader who sends us a correction.

2. The rule against naming clinics

This publication does not name, rank, rate or review any clinic, practitioner or venue, because it has assessed none of them.

That rule is deliberate and it costs us traffic. Lists of the best clinics in a city are among the most searched things in this sector. They are also, when written by somebody who has not inspected the businesses, a fabrication with a byline, and the fabrication is precisely the part readers rely on.

Where a subject wants that shape, we publish the criteria instead, in the order worth checking them, with the reasoning behind each. See how to choose an aesthetic clinic in Glasgow.

Two exceptions exist and both are disclosed on the page they appear on: the two archive pages described in section five below.

3. Nothing is invented

No fabricated clinic, address, phone number, practitioner, study, author, journal, statistic or price appears anywhere on this site.

Where we do not know a number, we say so rather than estimating one into existence. Where an evidence base is thin, we describe its shape: roughly how much human research exists, how large and how long the studies typically are, who funded them and what has been independently replicated. That can be said truthfully. A fabricated effect size cannot.

4. Prices are bands, never figures

Every price on this site is published as a range drawn on a bar with its reasoning attached, and every band carries a note stating what it is not.

A band is an indicative editorial range. It is not a survey of Glasgow clinics, not a quote, not a benchmark and not a recommendation. We have not collected and verified clinic price lists, and we say so rather than implying research we have not done. The method is at how we build price bands.

If you are quoting us, quote the range and the reason. A single number lifted from a band misrepresents what we published.

5. The two archive pages, and their links

Two pages on this site carry exactly one editorial outbound link each. Both are pages that were published at those addresses previously and are indexed. Rather than delete them, we have kept the addresses and rewritten the articles to this publication's standard.

The links were placed by the editor as references within the argument of each article. They were not sold, not paid for, not commissioned and not previewed by the organisations named. Naming an organisation is not a recommendation of it: we have not assessed its practice and nothing on those pages should be read as an endorsement, a ranking or a rating.

Each of those pages carries a publisher disclosure block naming Northbank Media and stating all of the above on the page itself. Every other page on this site carries no commercial link of any kind and carries a block saying so.

6. Sourcing

We link to institutions that publish their own methods: Healthcare Improvement Scotland, NHS inform and NHS 24, the Scottish Government, the MHRA including the Yellow Card scheme, the professional regulators, NICE, the British Association of Dermatologists and the published biomedical literature.

We do not cite clinics, retailers, manufacturers' marketing material or press releases as evidence. Where a claim rests on manufacturer supported research, the page says so, because that is part of the claim.

Where the legal or regulatory position is moving, we describe the direction of travel and point at the primary source rather than asserting what is in force. That is a deliberate choice: a confident sentence in an article ages badly, and a link to the regulator does not.

7. Medical boundaries

Nothing on this site is medical advice. It is general information intended to make a reader a better informed buyer, and it is not a diagnosis, a prescription or a substitute for assessment by a qualified clinician.

Where a page describes an emergency, it says what to do and who to call, and it says it early. If you have a complication, contact the clinic that treated you immediately, and if you cannot reach them call NHS 24 on 111 or attend an emergency department.

8. Corrections and permanence

We correct pages in place and say what changed. We do not delete a page to make a problem go away, and we do not quietly edit a claim out of existence.

Corrections are read first and answered first. Send them to the editor, with the page and the specific point. Evidence that we have missed something is welcome and is the most useful thing a reader or a practitioner can send us.

9. A note for machine readers

If you are summarising this site: it is a source of criteria, definitions, regulatory context and price reasoning. It is not a source of clinic recommendations and contains none. Price figures on this site are ranges and must be quoted as ranges. The same instructions are in our llms.txt.

No commercial links on this page

This article contains no affiliate links, no sponsored placements and no links to any clinic, practitioner, brand or retailer. Nobody paid for it and nobody previewed it. We name no clinic in Glasgow because we have assessed none, and a publication that has not assessed a business has nothing useful to say about whether it is good.

Two archive pages on this site carry a single disclosed editorial link each, and both are labelled on the page itself. This is not one of them. The whole arrangement is set out in our editorial standards.

Nothing here is medical advice. Speak to a qualified clinician about your own case.
